Hello from the Sanders Crew
Just to let you know that I visited the website, Mike. We are planning to visit. We will be tied up for the next few weeks - a road trip to Tyler and a vacation to the hill country - pulling the camper. After that, I will get my friend, Betty, and we will all come out for a visit, and to love the animals. See ya'll, Kathy

I'd like to let you know I think you are doing a great job of taking care of these animals. We ourselves feed about 25 strays out where we live and know how expensive it can be. If we could only catch, spay and neuter these cute little guys and girls.........

You touched my heart
What a WONDERFUL person you are. It really touched my heart when I read the article in the Houston Chronicle. I will make sure all my friends know about you! I will also be visiting. Connie Miller

A HEART FOR THE ANIMALS
I was so impressed by your compassion and commitment to God's special creatures (Houston Chronicle, Feb. 15, 2006). Those of us who respect and value animals gladly accept a mission that carries much responsibility.....but the rewards are so great. We are currently companions/caretakers to a rescued Rottweiler who was terribly abused and 9 cats who were abandoned but have managed to find us. We know firsthand how expensive caring for these guys can be. So, in memory of Shadow (Rottie), Miss Bear (Rottie), and Butler (Rat Terrier mix), we are mailing a donation for your "kids". God bless your work, Stanley Ruggerio

Any suggestions
I read your story in the Chronicle and was so glad to hear that there are other people out there who take in strays and care for them. Our family is currently losing our home and we have five dogs and two cats. All are pretty much strays we got off the side of the road. I am having a hard time finding a place that will allow pets here in Texas and I don't want to get rid of any of the pets because they are family. If you have any suggestions please write back. Thank you for what you do for the animals.

Non-profit shelter.
I just read about you in the Chronicle, and bless you for what you are doing. I'm a retired senior citizen and have managed to accumulate 20-25 cats. Most of my females have been spayed, I have one more to go. If I could just catch the two wild ones before they have more babies, I'd be ever so grateful!! You are right about cats sometimes prefer dogs. My dog loves cats and it is mutual. One kitty even tried to nurse from her!! It was so funny, I had to take a picture of he two. I have had the unpleasant task of taking several cats to the pound here in San Jac and Polk count- ies, and it is heart breaking, because they don't care for the animals, and the one in Polk was shut down by SPCA. The one in Shepherd is just as bad, something should be done about that place... How can I get a license for a non-profit animal shelter? I am flat broke feeding these guys, not to mention spaying and neutering expenses. My admiration for you and your work, Unni Foss Shepherd, TX

You are an inspiration
Just read the article regarding your shelter in the Houston Chronicle (2-15-06) and wanted to let you know what an inspiration you are! It warmed my heart to read the story of Little Woman Home for Animals. I have 8 cats, all rescues, all spayed & neutered.......I understand completely the expenses involved in their care. God Bless You for what you all do. I would like to take an opportunity to visit the shelter at some point, as well as make a donation. Thank you again for all you do!

Volunteer
Dear Madam/Sir; We live in Huntsville area. Do you need volunteers or assistance? Regards, Darlene & George Bleser

THANK YOU
THE ARTICLE IN TODAY'S NEWSPAPER WARMED MY HEART. I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT YOUR HOME SOMEDAY AND VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUT, IF THERE'S ANYTHING I COULD DO. I AM AN ANIMAL LOVER (HAVE FOUR CATS) LIVE IN HOUSTON AND HAVE LIMITED FUNDS, BUT WOULD HELP OUT WITH "SPECIAL PROJECTS" IF YOU COULD USE MY ASSISTANCE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU COULD USE A HAND WITH. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS! SINCERELY, JEAN FLEWELLEN

Animals Voices
I read the article about your shelter in the Chronicle today. (2-15-06) I think it is wonderful what you are doing & I have ALWAYS wanted to do the same but funds have stopped me from doing it. I love animals more then I do people because they will love you know matter what. I have 4 dogs & 2 horses. All of them are animals that other people didn't want so they gave them to me except for 1 of my dogs. I found her roaming around highway 242 when she was just 5 months old. I picked her up & now she is 12. She is my little girl. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you being the voice & heart of all these animals. You have taken them in because they can't speak for themselves & you let them know that nothing is ever going to happen to them. They will live a full & happy life like they should & deserve. If you ever need volunteers to help you out, just let me know. I would love to help. God bless you & all the animals.-Anne

Chronicle Article
We were very touched at the support you give dogs and cats and wish we could do the same. We hope to visit you soon. Kathy

Unconditional Love
When I read the article in the Houston Chronicle, I knew you had to LOVE animals as much as I do when I saw you holding that dog in your lap and kissing it's head, only a dog lover will kiss a dog!!! I will send you a donation to help you. You are truly blessed to do such loving work, we need more people like you in this world. I wish I lived closer so I could help you hug and kiss each and every dog. God bless you!!!

You are a HERO
To every single dog, cat, and donkey in your animal kingdom, you are a hero in their eyes because you saved their life. I had tears in my eyes after seeing the picture of you kissing Mikey because the kindness in your face just radiated and was unmistakable. I, too, lavish my 3 dogs with hugs & kisses, to the point I swear they roll their eyes at me!! It was so heartwarming and touching to see you care so much for stray animals. You are truly a wonderful and generous person, because to help animals is to give selflessly. I will send a donation to help you.

Thank You
I am working in Lake Jackson Tx for 14 weeks at Brazosport Hosptial. I had some downtime and picked up a around and the first article I saw was yours... You touched my heart and i want to say THANKS for ALL that you/ya'll do for those animals. It is such a shame in this day that people are not doing their part to control the pet population and so many families/people feel they can adopt an animal and then toss to the side... without any thought or feelings. I would like to donate some money and will be doing so again the near future. Thanks again!!!! Lisa from Atlanta

I read the article in the Chronicle
I saw the picture of the pit bull and read the article in the chronicle, I think what you are doing is the most God Loving thing possible. It touched my heart in so many ways. I am an avid animal lover as well, 5 dogs, 7 cats, they just found me, I fed them and they never left. Thank you Carlos, we need more people like you and definately this is something I will begin to donate to. I love the fact I am donating to a not-for profit and NON-KiLL organization for animals. Again, thank you. I have already told several people about your organization and what you do...

In Memorium
Today I will donate to your cause in memory of Woody, Dogmatic, Trekkie, 311, and Big Mac. It is my calling to adopt the unadoptable, but I don't have your courage to do it on such a large scale. I have four dogs right now with health or personality issues. It seems that the more attention and care they require, the more I love them. Bless you and your volunteers. Paige (dogmom)

Thank You
It is wonderful what you are doing for these special animals. I'm sending a donation in memory of my beloved "Penny" and hope others do the same. I'm also very interested in purchasing some of your art work. God bless you--

Thank You
Like everyone else posting I saw the article from the newspaper. Thank you soo much, you're truly an inspiration. I'm sending you a donation on behalf of my three rescue babies, Wade, Lexie and Callie cat.

thank you
All the above posted comments have my same sentiment - Thank you - There is an Indian legend which says when a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based upon what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge... and which are turned away.. You will surely cross. Will send donation and I am interested in you paintings.

You are Truly Making a Difference
Mr. Arreola, Well, I guess I can only reiterate what everybody else above has already said, but I want to say it too: THANK-YOU for your kindness, you are making a positive difference in these animal's lives. That is priceless. I can tell that the poor pit bull, Mikey, on the cover of the Chronicle article has had his spirit broken. That broke my heart. Chained to a railroad??? Jeez What kind of sadistic pathetic loser does that?? I think I would kill that person if I could. But it is so sobvious from the picture how you love Mikey & take care of him, as with all the animals, I'm sure. I will be sending you a donation too. You have really uplifted me today. God bless you & your work.

Thanks to a special man
The picture of Mikey in Chronicle Wednesday touched my heart as well as brought back memories-my husband and I rescued a pit bill 18-20 years ago. He was approximately 4 weeks old when we found him-he lived to be 14 and was one of the best dogs we have had. We still miss him-and I love pits. We have 3 dogs and 4 cats that were all abandoned or strays that "found" us. Some have medical problems but we are blessed we are able to care for them properly. Your shelter is a breath of fresh air and a blessing. I would love to help you in anyway I can. Give Mikey a hug for me.

Chronicle Article 2/15/06
Carlos: Anne sent me the Chronicle article and I received it today. It was great. I hope it creates a lot of interest including financial interest in your great work. Charlie Bowers

To Carlos, Mikey , and Friends From Cooper
Over the years, my family and I have been privileged to donate to many worthy animal rescue groups. But never have we received such a touching "thank you" note as the one from Mikey and Carlos. We will treasue it. This initial donation was in memory of 3 very special animal companions (Shadow, Miss Bear, Butler). Our next donation will be in honor of an extraordinary Rottweiler. We rescued Cooper... wandering the streets, barely able to walk, almost unrecognizable as a Rottie, covered in infected wounds, and wearing a filthy collar that was embedded in his skin. He was very afraid, but I have no doubt that he sensed we were his only hope. When we asked him if he wanted "to go home", he summoned up his last bit of strength to JUMP into our vehicle. He has endured and survived treatment for heartworms, malnourisnment, various infections, and trauma to his spine (likely the result of beatings). He carried internal scars from his abuse that were even more severe than the external ones. Today, 7+ years of love and care later, Cooper is a magnificently beautiful boy. He is our dedicated protector and our faithful friend....grateful that our paths crossed, and so are we. A donation to Little Woman Home for Animals in honor of Cooper's spirit and will to survive is the least we can do for Carlos and his precious rescues.

Looking for Doxies
Good Morning, Thanks to Ronnie Ratliff for sharing your site. My husband and I have two doxies (a male and an alpha-female.) We are looking for a black 'n tan male to make the family complete. Please let us know if one happens to cross your path. Thank you, June Osterholm

WHY CAN'T THERE BE MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU?
Just a note to tell you that I think you are absolutely wonderful for doing what you do for these animals! If I lived somewhere with some land, I think I'd be doing the same thing. It completely breaks my heart to see or even think about all the poor abused and negleted animals in this world. All of the animals we have are strays...the best kind! God bless you! I pray that more people will give more thought to the feelings and needs of animals everywhere! Thanks for doing what you're doing. I will be sending a donation.

Bravo/Brava!
I am sitting here attempting to type this, while a very persnickity dark orange/black tortie cat of 16+ attempts to nip my fingers because I've stopped petting her temporarily. Flame is one of a pile of rescues I care for, has her own bedroom (so as to avoid the other 7 cats I've rescued -- scared of them -- sadly, someone declawed her!), and epitomizes the "disposable pet" syndrome that is rampant, and which situation you are clearly improving. Thank you! I saw the 2/06 Cat Fancy article yesterday at my vet's office, and was especially impressed by your idea to create an art gallery to subsidize the care of all your wonderful animals. Can't handle more 4-legged (or even 3-legged) creatures myself right this sec, but sure would enjoy the purchase of artwork that helps support same. Will keep checking your website to see what you're up to. Love your open- area style for the cats, yet with little private nooks! I laughed over the huge clowder of cats on the bed (English word for a clutter of cats). I picture you and a pile of retirees all banding together and really just getting whatever's needed done for these valuable animals. Thanks for all you contribute. You are hope in the flesh!

HOW'S THE PAINTING GOING ??

Bless the Animals
Carlos, Three more abandoned little souls have recently found the pathway to our door. We christened these kitties Brother, Sister, and Mister Cat. Obviously littermates, Brother takes care of Sister. He lets her eat first, and he sleeps with his arm around her. Mister Cat, a truly independent character, is just along for the ride. They have joined our menagerie of rescues - Cooper the Rottweiler and cats Sweetie Pie, Mama, Baby, Otis, Olive, and Annabelle. We feel very loved and needed. I have just sent my second donation to your wonderful shelter. I urge all people who have compassionate hearts for animals in distress to contribute to this noble cause. Please know that you, your precious animals, devoted staff, and volunteers are in my prayers.

Can you help 2 outside adult cats?
My friend has been feeding 2 abandoned cats outside for years. She no longer can and is distraught about the thought of leaving them. They will have their shots and be neutered/spayed. Can you give them a safe outside-only home?

Would like to visit
We are cat lovers and would like to come for a visit. We live in Houston and would prefer a weekend day but could also come Friday or Monday, whatever would be best. Could someone please let us know and also how to get there. Thanks, Jerry and Margaret Goodman

To evie and anyone looking for suggestions
There wasn't a date on your post but if you are still in this situation let me make a few suggestions. Your probably somewhere close to Houston so I would suggest you get involved w/ one of the local adoption programs like Homless Pet Placement. It will take your involvment; as all rescues are so overwhelmed with animals that they need people to handle the caretaking and the travel to and from the adoption sites. Also online groups such as erescue will allow the posting of animals to be rehomed.

Help needed
A precious little feral cat is living on the porch of my storage unit. I tried bringing it inside but my tabby tried attacking it. The little feral has a birth defect, one front led is longer and he can't walk properly. He has been harmed by outside animals twice in the past two weeks and I am deeply concerned. He has a joyful personality and loves any attention. I need a place to bring him, can you help? Sincerely, Carolyn (Conroe) 936-539-3449

ANGELS
Carlos, You are an angel for the things that you do. You don't have to do this and yet you do. So many animals are never given a chance. Never get to be loved and cared for like they deserve. To open up your life COMPLETELY and give all you can and your love to animals of all kind is something that only certain people possess. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so kind. The animals thank you too for giving them a chance and not giving up on them. I hope that you continue to get the support you need and deserve so that you can continue to do this amazing thing.

Your shelter is a joke. there are too many animals and you need to adopt them for less.

Hello, this is the first time I've visited your site. I have heard about your "no-kill" shelter & I think it's wonderful. About a month ago, I found an extremely emaciated young black lab. I took him to Rita B Huff but couldn't leave him. He has heartworms and really bad skin allergies. I have an 11 year old rottie who is very jealous, so I keep the 2 seperated. I had thought about bringing him out to your place But after looking at all the animals you have, I can't fuss about having one extra pet at my home;especially one who is already so devoted to me. As I read your comments, I came across the last one(the "your shelter is a joke" one) & it really angered me! YOUR SHELTER IS A WONDERFUL PLACE & YOU WILL BE A VERY BLESSED PERSON FOR CARING FOR THESE ANIMALS!! THANK YOU!! People like 'Ubana' should look at their own life & think how they make our world a better place before judging you and your actions...Thanks Again.

Grief
I had to put my cat Betty to sleep yesterday. I'm a wreck. I can't eat, I cry constantly, and oh the guilt. Do you still offer grief counseling? I can't cope.

Thank You
I read an article in Cat Fancy Magazine about your shelter and I want to say it sounds like a great place for homeless animals. I wish I lived in your state so I could volunteer!! Thank you for making such a wonderful home for animals. The world (and the animals)need more places like yours. I want to start and animal shelter someday, and I hope to have it be as nice as yours sounds.

PASADENA NEWS CITIZEN
I have a Wednesday column in the above newspaper. I would like to email the two articles that will be published next week, Wednesday, August 29 and the following Wednesday, September 5, 2007. I guess I'll just snail mail them to Carlos by the address given on the brochures. Tell Carlos I'll be calling him. Ever since I've come back I've been rather busy trying to promote Little Woman in everyway possible.
